Elric Compulsions

For a player to resist his compulsion he would have to "fail" a Pact skill roll, is that correct?

And some compulsions, as the Pact deepens, would become like O.C.D's, wouldn't they? Bone Collector for example with a high Pact skill would mean that on a failed Pact roll in combat, the PC would stop to "collect" the bone or bones of the fallen, wouldn't it?

I just want to be sure I'm on the right track before I start asking for Pact rolls in the midst of combat.

Cheers,

Jim

Yes. This is exactly right.

The deeper Pact becomes, the more the compulsion manifests. Same with passions. In fact, I ran a game a few days ago where a character, deeply in love (70% ish) with someone who was a good friend, had to actively fail his Passion roll or blurt out how much he loved her when she came to him for solace.

He failed to fail the roll.

Countries went to war.

It was brilliant...
