Elric: Bright Shadows Preview

cool I am just finishing a campaign which had Mariad YnD'aan and her entourage / hired ship captain, adventureres as the central characters - although the rules were more 1st ed Stormbringer than later editions. Will be buying it as a sourcebook as the RQ rules are way too complicated for me :)

thanks :)

There are no fully fleshed out scenarios, but there is a sizable section in the book directed at campaigning in Melnibone, including a list of scenario seeds that can be spun out into full-blown scenarios.

Also, the rest of the book is filled with scenario seeds, woven in to the descriptive text of various part of the island. There's plenty to do here.

I can't wait for this book. :)

It looks very good and is a must have, from the description and the download.
I don't suppose there are any plans to update the old Pan Tang book?

Not yet. There are a few Elric titles in the pipeline, but we're likely to tackle somewhere that's not been tackled before. I dare say a Pan Tang book will happen, but there's plenty of areas to describe before we get to that demonic isle of glass.

Will we be getting a cults of Law/Chaos?- it would be nice to see Charles' work on the cults brought in line with MRQ rules and bound neatly in a single volume.

There will be, next year, but it will be a different book to Charles's (excellent) cults monographs. The cults book will expand on material in the main rules, introduce a few new cults of Law and Chaos, but also introduce cults looking at other cultures in the YK, such as the Sorcerer Adventurers of Quarzhasaat, ancestor worship in places such as Pikarayd, Dorel, Oin and Yu, and expand the Beast Lords.

The Stormbringer Monographs where quite cool, especially the later monographs when the layout and artwork was jazed up a bit.
In a way its a shame the creative channel of the Eternal Champion Monographs have been lost - but in the same breath Mongoose seem to be shaping up the Eternal champion stuff quite nicely.
