Elemental bindings

Spirit Magicians can bind elementals to their bodies now. Salamanders can generate heat and it's pretty easy to get creative with Sylphs, but what about Gnomes? One usage I was thinking might be applicable is "Stoneskin", affording the Spirit Magician 1pt of natural, non AP armor per cubic meter of gnome. What are some other possibilities? A holdfast like application with a range of Pow in meters?
And what about Undines?
Or the "other" elementals refered to in S&P (I always liked the idea of a lightning elemental)?
Can a Skelemental be bound?
Some ideas I've had have been inspired by the "Codex Alera" series, which seems almost tailored to these rules, but I'm curious as to what other uses people have found for Shamanistic elemental applications (that sounds scientific!).
Thoughts?

Well, undines should certainly give a boost to your ability to swim. Maybe the ability to breathe under water (although that could also be appropriate for sylphs). For something a bit more bizarre, now about the ability to partially liquidise your body and squeeze through very small spaces?

How about the ability to travel freely through the ground, or even pass through stone walls; ignoring 1 AP of stone per cubic meter, when punching it; vomit up the contents of your stomach which is ejected as a blast of gravel or sand; cause big boulders up to the size of the elemental to roll about when singing to them; change the contour of the ground about you by sculpting it with sweeps of your hand; appear to be a read statue, etc, etc...
