Earth-Centauri War (East Coast, US)

Mongoose
If I could get a mod to sticky this thread I'd appreciate it.

Rules of Engagement Games LLC will be running the Earth-Centauri war campaign weekend as well. It will be held on the same weekend that Mongoose is hosting it. We're talking to Matt, Ian and Alexander so that we can run this event as closely as possible to the way that it's being done in the UK. Space will also be limited for this event so sign up early. When you sign up please send in a first and second choice for fleets if you can. If you don't have a choice (one fleet owned or some other reason) please indicate this as well. We will try our best to accomodate you. More information will become available as we get it. We will likely limit space to either 20 players (9 tables in a three by three grid and two grand admirals) or 26 players (4X3+2). At the moment it loooks like the sign-up fee will be $15 US if you pre-register or $20 the day of the event (assuming there is still space). This will go to cover the cost of prize support and trophies (which are prize support, come to think of it). If you have any questions about this event that are US specific please feel free to send them to roe_games@yahoo.com , post them into this thread or call the number in the signature block below. Information contained in the FAQ will be honored by us with a few obvious exceptions (we don't have a Neroon for example). We'll be coordinatingvery closely with Mongoose to keep this event weekend as true as possible to the event in the UK. We'll also be taking lots of photographs to send to Mongoose to do with as they will <wink, wink... nudge, nudge Signs & Portents>.

Derina,
It was I who suggested you shaving your head if you're voted Centauri grand Admiral. On a side note though... you're welcome to come to our event. It'd be a bit of a commute but well worth it...LOL

you paying for the airline ticket and visa?

joke

I'll make you a deal, if you get yourself here I'll pay for your hotel room instead. That seems like a pretty safe deal on my part. If I could afford the visa and plane ticket I'd come there to play. Remember, I own a game store. It's not like I make any money at this <grin>.

I've seen your painting skills and you're bound to have a British accent. That said I'd hire you in a heartbeat. Having a "gamer-girl"/painter with an British accent would work wonders for sales...LOL

Is there a list of locations that are participating yet?

Abraxas,
As far as I know we're it! I am an avid (read: rabid) B5 fan/player. Although I am pretty new to the system, when I read about this event I pestered Matt, Alexander and Ian to see if we could host it here on this side of he pond. We've been in constant (probably morethan they'd like  ) communication since then. At the moment I don't think any other stores in the US, and certainly not in this area have asked to join in on this. The space required, amount of planning and coordination with Mongoose are pretty demanding. Worth every bit of it so far but tough none the less. If you have any questions about our E-C War here at Rules of Engagement Games or are interested in coming you can post it here, email me or call the store. We hope to see you here.

Well, I live in DE and go to school in NYC... so I doubt I'll be able to make it.

I know what you mean about "rabid" B5 fan though. I am as well :D .

Good luck with the event!

We will have to find out more how this is run - and then we can get on board out here on the West Coast as well.

We just had a 18 player tournament for B5:ACTA in November, and will have our next one at the new Convention ConQuest VEGAS on April 18-20th right before the GAMA show.

As I know the event is now held is Swindon, UK, at Rules of Engagement Games LLC, US and Oberhausen in Germany

Cool, a truly international event. We, at Rules of Engagement, are very much looking forward to this event. We already have several locals signed up but there are still spots open. Let us know if you're interested and google the local hotels to get the best rates.
