DW Player Books?

I _really_ want the DW line to continue. I've got a game running with myself and three players, and would like to have them help support the game as well. Problem is, the game is so rules light they can't justify buying the rulebook. I kind of agree. I mean, they'd spent $40 for what, two pictures of weapons, 2-3 pages of their chosen profession, and then maybe 10 pages of spells?

Obviously, DW isn't a game full of skill/trait/fate/etc options, so there isn't much for a player to pour through. This simplicity is actually one of the reasons I like the game.

So, to get my players to pony up some money for the line, they need a reason. Looks like all the current sourcebooks are gm only. Anything in the works that will target players?

You could pool your money to buy the Bestiary and other adventures which have been published. So each of them feels they have contributed to the game. One of the main appeals of DW for me is that you do NOT have to spend lots of money to play!

I TOTALLY agree!

We are working on Dragon Warriors books that will be useful to players. In the meanwhile, you could head over to DriveThruRPG and pick up a copy of the Chronicles of the Magi trilogy, Dave Morris's series of young-adult novels set in the Lands of Legend, exclusively rereleased as a series of PDFs. It's a cracking story with lots of great background about the world and its more colourful characters, from the frozen north to the exotic south.
