Duck book cover

It just prooves Mongoose is tainted by chaos. Who else would produce broos minis first and not even adventurers?

Another slight at the noble duck race, suggesting they cannot be adventurers :)
Well, with the Durulz book out 2 years after the release of the minis it would have been hard to played Duck adventurers without all this knowledge.

BTW why don't you produce minis assorted to the books being released, with a set of several minis for each campaign representing all the major antagonists. Isn't this a great idea? :D

Only to a degree - our short RuneQuest and Paranoia miniatures ranges demonstrated that to be successful, such miniatures need a miniatures game to support them. Miniatures for RPGs is just not enough (as WotC seems to be finding out. . .).

Speaking of duck miniatures, where are they? I don't see them on the RuneQuest merchandise page. I hope Mongoose is still selling them. They'd make a great addition to the book on Ducks.

Wizards falled in their own traps.
Before, minis were generally used as stand-alone for RPG's (excepted tabletop games like Warhammer but even they did separate RPG from tabletop).
Now Wizards combine both and also offer minis as CCG-like products (that is collectible) which have nothing to do with RPG because they forgot easily that an RPG book is already expensive enough and with their new system it is becoming ridiculously expensive to get a specific rare mini.

I'd tend to agree with that. They messed up with Halo to, methinks. Fantastic minis, and a good beer and pretzels game, but they could have got a lot more out of it if they'd made more things like the Hunter packs with various minis then the collectible route. It's nearly impossible to get things like Grunts, and I think they missed the potential on the wargaming community.

The new Glorantha layout has an ambiance with the text...

Afraid I don't buy this. It looks to me as though the artist has designed the art around the presence of a fairly large logo in the top 3rd which is why the detail is in the bottom 2/3rds. To me the redesign makes the top look empty and the bottom look congested.

Just noticed the new redesign and I think that looks a lot better. Looks like the same font in the title as the GT2A logo which is good. The RQ logo is still rather nasty but there's not a lot that can be done with it. All in all though the changes seem to bring out the artwork better while still identifying the book well. So, credit where credit's due.

I love the cover and think it really sets the tone for the book. Man cannot wait to get this book. This has been the most anticipated book of the RQ catalogue, atleast for me anyway. :P
