Drivethru releases

Mongoose
Hi Mongoose,

When is Cults of Glorantha scheduled to appear on Drivethrough? I love PDF's and can't wait for the release.

Simon

Typically the PDF release has been about 3 weeks after the announced release date.

The Mongeese say about a month but the recent releases seem to have been quicker than that.

I hate to dig up an old post, but do we know yet when this will be available on DriveThru? I would really like to get this in a PDF format.

I'm working on it.

If everything goes according to plan, all the missing pdfs should be up tomorrow or early next week.

Thanks Chris, any chance of them tonight, for my game? LOL! Seriously!

Between the time it takes me to get the pdfs sorted, the time the Drivethru guys need to sort everything at their end, and the time difference between here and the US, it's going to be tomorrow.

Sorry about that.

Hi,

Mark and I have spoken several times at putting the Unspoken Word into PDF format, via Drivethru or another similar company. However we have not finalised the deal.

Cool/Excellent stuff
Uz and the Tarsh/Shaker stuff was wicked especially the detail on the Maran Gor cult.

Wonder if Greg's has similar plans for his unpublished stuff Glorius rescent of Yelm etc. Which would also be cool in pdf

I hope you do it eventually. It would be nice to know that print runs running out won't mean the product is unawailable.

Unspoken Word products are definitely the best stuff awailable for a Glorantha games these days. My hat is off for you,

Hi Simon! When will you start direct sales again? I would love that map collection!

I REALLY loved your Uz-book! What other books of yours would you recommend for a RuneQuest-game? I don't play HeroQuest...

Trif.

Trif.

Trif? I thought he was b-a-n-n-e-d, surely you meant Col? :D

Anyway, this is not Simon Bray, but another Simon, but ...

In Wintertop's Shadow is excellent and has so many cults you can steal for RQ.
Tarsh in Flames has a lot of good background, not so many cults, though, but still good.
Uz is basically Trollpak for HeroQuest so doesn't have much that Trollpak didn't have, so if you have RQ2 or RQ3 Trollpak then there's not a lot in Uz that is useful for RQ.
Thieves' Arm has a lot of good herobands and a few cults and HeroQuests, if you are playing bandits or need bandits in RQ then this has some useful information.
Sons of Kargzant is awesome, full of stealable cults, background, the whole of Char Un culture and it even mentions the Gord'Un. It can be used for Pentians as well as the Char'Un and perhaps even Grazers.
Wintertop Fair should have been added to the end of In Wintertop's Shadow as it just doesn't cut it as a standalone supplement. It isn't worth buying for a RQ campaign, although it does have a mucky HeroQuest.

I'm sure that Simon Bray has his own ideas of which of his supplements are any good, though.

Trifletraxor is banned, not Trif. Anyway, I got a new avatar now so they can't possibly recognize me. 8)

Lot of important Simons on this board. Must be a RQ powername. :P

Sounds good. Do you have conversion rules for the spells in this book too? :D

Tarsh in Flames has a lot of good background, not so many cults, though, but still good.
Got it. Didn't find it of much use for my game though.

Uz is basically Trollpak for HeroQuest so doesn't have much that Trollpak didn't have, so if you have RQ2 or RQ3 Trollpak then there's not a lot in Uz that is useful for RQ.
I got practically everything that has been published about uz, and I felt the Uz-book had a lot of good stuff. How their sonar worked, why they liked beetles, uz-culture, uz-mentality, etc. It's obligatory reading for anyone who wants to play uz in my game. 8)

Thieves' Arm has a lot of good herobands and a few cults and HeroQuests, if you are playing bandits or need bandits in RQ then this has some useful information.
Herobands would not be of much use to me. Neither the heroquests as they are published in the alien HeroQuest rules (I've tried to convert them before, can't do it, easier to make it up from scratch). Which cults are described? Are they alone enough to buy the book?

Hmm... Okay, I better get that one too then.

Off the list.

What sizes are the maps in the map-collection Blackyinkin? And when will you start up direct sales again? I didn't find the maps with any of the other european suppliers.

Trif.

Yes, I did a bare bones conversion of the Tarsh Exile Cults. Some spells haven't been described but most have, I think. I'll have to have another look and fill in some of the gaps.

The HeroQuest HeroQuests can be used in RQ with absolutely no conversion at all. So, you get feats not divine spells as rewards and abilities not skills, but that's all. They are a bit simplistic - one station one key skill - but can be used as written.

I can't remember which cults were there. The Herobands are worth seeing, though as they can be used for RQ fairly easily.

The maps are very good. They are either A3 or A4, at least the ones I bought were, and are very high quality. You can't have enough maps, anyway.

Hi All,

Dr Galeotti and I have just met up for our December business meeting and are glad to announce that the Unspoken Word is back in production. Early next year we will be converting all our old products into a PDF format and selling them on the new version of Drivethrurpg. Whilst these products will not contain direct RQ conversion, they are readily useable for RQ fans, being mainly focussed on Gloranthan fun.

We will also be producing new products, including a new version of the Unspoken Word books, these will most likely be collections of scenarios and so forth for HQ, with Gloranthan stories, histories, cults and NPCs.

We have also discussed producing non-Gloranthan specific OGL MRQ products, such as open setting scenarios, adventure locations and so forth, more of that later.

The maps - We have begun a stock take, Mark has been in America for the last year and I moved house, so some stock was put into storage. A batch of as yet unsold maps has been located. Once the holiday is over, and we are back up to running speed we will make these available to the public. We have maps of Dagori Inkarth, Mirin's Cross, Prax, the Lunar Empire, Imther, Heortland, Pamaltela and Erigia. We will be talking to Issaries and Moon Design about several other Maps. We also plan to do some open licence maps in the future, such as a Stead Map, Villages, Wilderness Maps etc, that can be used with any game.

As I said before, UW has some organising to do, so you cannot order anything yet, we will make announcements in the relevant places when the time comes.

Many thanks Simon
