Discipline skill?

I usually run a combat-oriented scene during session zero with pre-gen characters. This gives players an idea of how the system works and how dangerous combat can be before they try to "Rambo" their way through the campaign. Also not above reminding them of such things before they make the final decision.

Ultimately it is the players choice. I prefer not to use a dice role to determine if they are allowed to attempt a heroic action. NPCs - sure. But not a PC. You never know when the Astrogator is going to find his/her mettle and take out that machine gun nest ... or not. :eek:

I do like that approach for NPCs though. I'm gonna have to borrow that :cool:
