Dirty tricks

Really dirty trick. Tell your oponent you'll be playing mimbari, he prepares his fleet accordingly. Turn up with Dilgar, Vorlons, Narn, Giam (or any flying brick force).

It works the other way round too. I'll be playing Dilgar. Oh ok ill play EA. Turn up. Thats some strange looking Dilgar, rather fishy looking.

If I understand the squadron rules correctly, the requirement is that each ship of the squadron must be within 6" of (at least) one other ship of the squadron. So ship 1 is 5 inches away from ship 2, ship 3 is 5 inches away from ship 4, ship 1 is 5 feet away from ship 3. Each ship is within 6" of one other ship of the squadron. ;)

Form up a squadron of four ships with 2" bases. Put the first one 2" in front of and very slightly to the side of an enemy lumbering ship, so that your ship is not in the enemy's boresight. Put the next one 3" away from the first, again almost but not quite dead ahead of the enemy ship, so that there is a 1" gap between your ships' bases. Your third ship goes 3" away from the second, your fourth ship goes 3" away from the third. And now that lumbering enemy ship can't move because anywhere it goes, it will overlap at least one of your ships' bases, even if it declares "All Power To Engines". The opponent could try to get lucky with a "Track That Target" roll, but that means the ship won't be doing "Close Blast Doors", which might not be wise since it's about to be hit by four of your ships at once. (Don't try this against something whose main weapon covers the whole forward arc, e.g. Primus.)

@ M1ndr1d3rs - Nice to meet someone who still understands Latin!

Or was it the Monkey Sh*t one that amused? :D
It should probably read "In times of war the rules lawyers fall silent" :)

I don't.. Just a die hard fan of Star trek DS9.

The monkey part is definitely a "dirty" trick though.

So what you need is something which you can throw at the enemy to blind him. He needs a CQ 10 check to wipe it off his face, otherwise he counts all enemies as effectively having stealth 3+.

Basically, what Earth call HARM is really a biological warhead.

Raspberry jam works, too. Also known as "blowing a raspberry" or "jamming his scanners". :D

More likely that a few people here play Rome Total War...

I think it was the name of an episode in DS9?

I learnt it at school, where we had to read Cicero in the original Latin!

Bloody hell, he was so boring! :x
