Dilgar War novels

Diesel

Mongoose
Just wondering - have there been any novels set during the Dilgar War?

I'd like to do a bit of reading around this time but there's not much out there at all.

Any and all help appreciated! :)

There is an abslutely fabulous novel (but unofficial by LC) - I'll email you it :)

nothing official that I am aware of..........and doubt they would be as good

Yep as mentioned by Da Boss, LC wrote a truly epic story that captures the feel of B5 and the characters perfectly, I hesitate to call it a fan fic as it's a nearly 3000 page PDA that is easily on par with most commercial sold sci fi novles (hell it's on par with most sci fi book SERIES) in terms of lenght and quality.

It may not be 'official', or 'canon' but as far as I (and anyone else whos read it as far as I've heard) it's by far the best source of background for all things Dilgar War related :D

It used to live in the fan fiction section on this very forum but sadly MGP had to take this section down to to legal issues. However if Da Boss is emailing you the PDF that shouldnt be a problem :D Be warned though, it's a LONG read (but so very, very worth it :D)

There was also a Mongoose novel about the aftermath of the war. It was pulled before a full print run, but a few, me included, managed to grab a preview copy.

Funly having something on the Dilgar, but it could have been better. IMHO It reads like fan fiction rather than professional writing.

The official one do you mean or LC's one?

I would find it somewhat ironic if the 'proper' Dilgar book read like fan fic and the fan fic read like a professional series (albeit with some spelling errors and typoes but considering the lenght of it and that he proofread it himself there's surprisingly few!)

Can anyone point me in the direction of the rest of LC's epic. I followed it up to the point they pulled the fan fiction threads, and I can't find a link to the rest.

I know it's not dilgar war related, but I thought that his story of Valin, told in verse form, was awesome as well.

PMed you :) And all I'll say regarding the Valen thing is read the rest of the Diglar War novel before you think its COMPLETELY unrelated ;)

Yeah, I miss that one... Reminds me of Tennyson's Idylls of The King...

Why was it canned then? There was plenty of speculation at the time, but I don't recall anything definite.

Mostly because we couldn't and can't talk about the inner workings. :) If Matthew had more info for us, we would have been told, y'know?

Rest assured, I think our novels would have rocked. But alas, they weren't in the cards this time. Perhaps another.

Any chance I could snag a copy of LCs book? I've heard good things about it even before this thread, but didn't think it was avaliable to us plebs!

Well, I too would be up for a fun idea for some summer reading.

If this has to be emailed, just let me know who to ask. If I can download it off a server; even better!
