Did Kralorala expand in the third age?

I was comparing the old Avalon hill book to the MRQII Glorantha book, and looking to see how badly Kralorela got shuck up in the 'Dragon Rousing from slumber' and Sinking off the land. When I noticed the position and scales:

In the Second Age it is a 400Km slog between Chang Tsai and Tzu Lung, after the Closing ends and we're in the Third Age the distance between the two cities shoots up to 700Km...

From the tip of Fanzi to the top of the main island of Koromandol:
3rd age is a little over 2800km
2nd age approx 2500km

Perhaps Godunya expanded it abit to allow for population growth

Distances in Glorantha are known problems.

Basically, there were two lots of maps, one scaled at 1mile per cm and the other at 1km per cm. Some sources seem to have used the 1cm/km and some used the 1cm/mile to determine distances. The 1cm/mile was the correct scale.

So, 400 km should probably be 400 miles, equating to 640 km, approximately 700km. It doesn't work for the 2500/2800 km though.

I'd go back to one of the big maps of Glorantha and measure the distances myself, or make your own distances up.

In any case, distances are best measured in terms of times rather than miles/kilometres. (Days travel on horseback/by foot/by ship/by air travel).
