By way of explanation...

"Roll Low" is "roll under a target number to succeed"
"Roll High" is "roll over a target number to succeed"

Right?

Something like that.... It more about the mental process of throwing dice, which do you prefer to see the higher result or the lower when the dice are thrown...

OK, that's basically the same thing. In a Roll High system, a high number means a success. In a Roll Low system, a low number means success.

Kinda.... Example My crowd for years played with the Hero system (roll Low for skills with 3d6) but still there was a part of my that was overjoyed when I rolled a 18, though it was a dismal failure... Yet still I rolled an 18.....

Roll high.

1.The math is easier to teach children so they can start gaming earlier:
2. +DMs add to the roll. Plusses look cool to kids

I think that means you really want to be playing a Roll High system ;).

And I consistently do when I get to choose....

I just wanted to see where other peoples heads where at.

Depends on the system. With 2d6 I prefer Roll High, with d100
I prefer Roll Low. Otherwise I do not care.
