The vehicle chapter in the Dark Conspiracy Core Rulebook is just about done and dusted. Similar to that in the current Traveller Core Rulebook, this one integrates the new rules from the forthcoming Vehicle Handbook Update 2026, with suitable tweaks to reduce complexity (the Core Rulebook just needs to cover 99% of the situations Operatives will get into with vehicles, and we obviously don't need all the sci-fi material).
However, it remains compatible with the new VHB, meaning Referees will be able to use that to expand their use of vehicles and design their own which will be instantly compatible with Dark Conspiracy.
There are currently 14 example vehicles in this chapter, covering everything from various cars to motorbikes, to choppers, to light aircraft and pleasure boats. No tanks or heavyweight military vehicles will be here as they are really not the sort of thing Operatives will be associated with in the first Dark Conspiracy book/era, but they will be simple for us to add in the odd adventure or sourcebook, or Referees who have the VHB.
As an example, this is what we have for a simple Fishing Boat in the Core Rulebook...
With this complete, we are getting dangerously close to having all the 'player-facing' rules done and dusted in the Core Rulebook - the last Big Thing to do on that side is operation and management of the Operative's 'cell', which will govern the resources they have available and the types of missions they will be sent on.
After that, we will be diving deep into the Dark Minions and their dimensions. Or in other word, for Referees, the Fun Stuff.

Fishing Boat
This 29-foot (9-metre) fishing and pleasure boat is designed for use in both commercial and tourist fishing expeditions and can handle deep coastal waters. Its winch allows it to haul up large catches of sports fishermen. This boat has both sonar and radar for detecting other vessels above or below the water and can detect large schools of fish within one kilometre.Type | Light Watercraft (DM+1 to attack) | ||||
