Deshkorgos' minions

Mongoose
Hi all

I'm planning to have Deshkorgos (or rather its cult) as the main opponent of my GodLearner party.

The little information I have been able to find is that Deshkorgos is variously described as the ruler of the 4th [or 5th?] Hell, or as the Master of Monsters. I would like to know what kind of creature would best be associated with its cult, so as to use it against the party.

Alternately, I would welcome stats for a Darkness Demon (I understand Deshkorgos is linked to Darkness).

Thank you for your help.

Demons, Snakes, Underworld Creatures.

There are some old stats for Demons in Wyrns Footnotes that I normally use. Alternatively, you could use the stats for Cacodemon Fiends but take away the Chaos Features.

I may still have a writeup on him suitable for MRQ somewhere. I had written him up for Cults but he was deemed too obscure for inclusion. I hope that he is mentioned in Dara Hapa Stirs as his worshippers are a frequently faced ritual opponent to both Yelm and Lodril - as well as a forbidden cult.

Loz?

He is. The darkness demons - the Dehori - too, are described...

I'll check with Mongoose towers and see if, perhaps, posting their stats here might be an appropriate move.

Hmm. That's the troll word for them, as Dehore's children, as I recall.

Probably wise. I look forward to seeing the cult writeup.

You'll be disappointed, because I haven't done one. He is mentioned, as are the dehori (and statted. Greg and I agreed on the name together), but I simply didn't have space to do a full Deshkorgos cult treatment. Too many Dara Happan gods to choose from!

Pity. I'll see about digging through my boneyard files and see what I can find.

There were various servants of Deshkorgos featured in the Hero Wars Narrators book:

Herendolli demons (this one looks like an lanky emaciated green bat with eyes in its elbows, but they are shapshifters)
Twitcher zombies
Saranaki demons - slaves of Deshkorgos - digging, swimming, shredding. sentinel and flying types (3-4 ft tall, slothlike face, long arms, short legs,
Fodeners - a yellow green lung burning fog
Zalu Flyfrogs live in the Fourth Hell and smell frightful.
Thak Dalar is an insect that curses people.

also the dog headed men and bitch bodied women of the Sedrali, although they're not direct servants the Lord of Monsters clearly manipulates this sort of creature, and attempts to control minor gods and spirits like Velet Bolter, the Mouse God.

Twitchers are spirits from the Ostin Tradition, which is subservient to Deshkorgos. They possess the corpse of any creature and or sentient being and activate that corpse as a standard zombie. However, they tend to move erratically, hence twitchy. I'm tempted to suggest that they originated in Rinliddi (a pun on Birdwatchers). I'd suggest the Veshtargos tribe in northern Pelorian were dominated by the cult of Deshkorgos. As far as statistics go, I'd treat them as normal zombies.

Other spirits include Buffers, Draggers, and Ragged Ghosts, as well as fear and darkness spirit. HW narrators book, p82.
