Written by Traveller-Scholar Rob Eaglestone, Deneb Sector is now available on Drivethru. Deneb is the one just to the right of the Spinward Marches so with this book, you need never worry about your players falling off the edge of the universe again!

You can find Deneb at;

http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/103866/Deneb-Sector

The printed version will be out next month, and the Solomani Rim sector book is just a week or so away!

A must buy for me!

The deckplans in the PDF are outstanding - they look good even at a magnification of 600%. It looks like they may have been inserted as vector graphic format such as EPS rather than raster graphic format - if so, well done Mongoose!

Now if only you could update a few of your older PDFs in the same way... :lol:

Is this consistent with the material presented in the TNE Regency Sourcebook (retrofitted to the CT era)?

The information in the Regency Sourcebook beyond the UWPs is sparse and a bit dry. I know Marc has been tweaking UWPs here and there, and the Deneb sector data used for the new book was the most current. I expect UWP changes to be mostly time-based. There will be some missing details that Mongoose has decided not to present (such as stellar types), but you should find the Mongoose and TNE versions mostly compatible. This wasn't a "from scratch" rewrite.

That said, Deneb is also not simply a collection of UWPs anymore. History and attitude have been added. Lots of attitude.

This is all a consipracy be Mongoose to separate me from my money, isn't it :)

Nice to see that you publish some OTU stuff. After a first quick look this is at least as good as Reft Sector or Solomanie. Ships and plans are better than the last ship book, clearer and more "technical". More of this please. It is the type of stuff from the MgT line I buy since it can be used with my prefered rules set easily

With the positive reviews re Deneb Sector is it due to the tweet that was made on the 6th June -

New Rule at Mongoose. No book goes to print without me having looked at every word first. A few years since we did that, should be good!

If it is :D and long may it continue.

Cool...that makes perfect sense. If Mongoose still has the source files for previous books, it should definitely be possible to update the PDFs to the same level of clarity. My vote would be to tackle Traders & Gunboats or Fighting Ships first, since the deckplans are a vital component of those products....

(As an aside, I wonder whether Mongoose has a system for archiving the original InDesign and Adobe Illustrator files for products once they've been pushed out the door? For many RPG companies, the original electronic files seem to be lost after a few years - it saddens me to think how much of the history of the hobby has been permanently lost in this way...)

Some of the earlier deckplans where done as bitmaps in Photoshop.
