First - I wish to say that I really like this so far and I think it will make an excellent first JD adventure.
BUT --- pages 12-15 whats goin on?

Some editing f***-up?
Paulie OR Joey? Who are we speaking to here? And who is the description of???????
:? :? :? :? :? :?

Bad moon Rising had an incorrect name and a slight conflict of dates , but these are easily resolved.

I can over look minor typo material though. Especially considering how bad it USED to be back in the day, with a multiple companies, heh.....

Beating up my Local Hobby Stores to keep this stuff stocked but I fear I'm gonna have to go to the Online Ordering eventually because of the curse of 4th ed.

I'll never understand why they want to flood shelves with foiled covered garbage that doesn't sell, and then they FIGHT me on getting more Mongoose Material, which has folks waiting in a line to see if they have it.

Idgits......The Brits are right to call us Colonial Savages.

BUT --- pages 12-15 whats goin on?

SPOILER ALERT!

Real quick...the original manuscript had Paulie Two-Peels as the gorilla the judges were meeting, but the editor and I felt that Paulie could make for a better antagonist in later scenarios (he was a little too high on the ape chain for starting Judges to deal with), so Joey Da Swinger was created to fill his place. Apparently the terminology in several paragraphs never got edited over from Paulie to Joey. Maybe we should have stuck with the original manuscript...who knows?

Anyway, the ape the Judges are talking to is Joey Da Swinger; a subordinate to Paulie Two-Peels. Basically anywhere it talks about Paulie, it is supposed to be talking about Joey.

I'm sorry the final draft didn't have this fixed, but all the numbers and stats add up just fine.

Cheers,
Bry

Thanks for the clarification.
Want a free editor for future publications
I'm sure there are plenty here who would read over for daft mitakes in return for a free copy.

Thanks for the clarification.

No worries! Keep me informed on this thread how things go with your group. I'm interested to see how other groups deal with the inner workings of D-Falls. :)

I'm hesitant to turn my group loose in DF at the moment, since they are all currently in trouble with the SJS and the Accounting Branch, I don't think I can trust them within the pages of that (Aside from the minor Ape issue), mighty fine piece of product.

Ouch. That sounds like they blew up something expensive, huh?

If you only knew Bryan, if you only knew ......Train Wreck doesn't even begin to describe it. This group walks a line so fine, even Dirty Harry couldn't squint enough to see it.

I've had to expand to a 5 subject note book just to tally the destruction.

Bry,
love DF book.
A few queries ....

Whats the range of the Flare-X ?
Also what combat skill is used for its operation ?

Re. The two cannons on the BME. Are these twin-linked ?
If so what system do you use for determiing how a twin linked gun hits and damages ?

Heavy Autocannon referred to as having SAP. What does SAP stand, for ?Is this a misprint for some armour piercing ability ?

Judge White

Some of the issues hail from my work on the Central Supply Catalogue; where I was using rules/ideas printed in that book that weren't in Judge Dredd.

Shotgun, and Heavy Weapons

Re. The two cannons on the BME. Are these twin-linked ?

It's a narrative description; there is only one gun system (roll once to hit and damage).

Heavy Autocannon referred to as having SAP. What does SAP stand, for ?Is this a misprint for some armour piercing ability ?

SAP means Semi-Armour Piercing; it ignores an amount of Armour Protection equal to half its damage dice rolled.

I hope that helps! :)

Yes, they're called playtesters.

PM me if you want to be added to the list.

No, thanks. I don't mean playtesting. I mean fresh eyes reading a manuscript just before it goes to print to pick up editorial issues. Perhaps more clarity around the difference between playtesting and editing would help sort out issues like this?

There is proofreading going on. Some of this stuff is caught even before then but someone does proof the stuff in a closer to final form.

Oh yeah proofreading. That's the word.
I'll start again. Ahem.
Want a free proofreader for future publications? Wink

If yes then I suggest somebody who knows the difference between proofreading and editing. (i.e. not me).

Well, the editors do some of the proofreading, though not normally on the same project they are editing.

Editing can involve a whole bunch of stuff, just what this might be can vary depending on the company. For example with Mongoose Publishing the editors are responsible for the playtesters, at another company the playtesters might fall under a project manager.
