Deckplans: software?

that... sounds like a cool job...
Slow work in progress thing?

Its not too bad, the Business is MTB/Road/BMX sales etc. As my job gets more FB/Twitter/etc orientated its getting more interesting. Visually some of the gear is pretty damn hoopy!

Any how back on track. How about I get a ship, show how I sketchup up it or something.. do a bit a day (or when time permits)

Feel free to send me a ship or I'll make my own. (though nothing over say 400t or 800t)

Oh no me tricks of the trade on show...!

well that limit is a little small for what I'm dealing with right now... :D

Current player ship is a 9000 ton, 8 deck monstrosity...

I have a 1000 ton sloop which is part of the same fleet :P

i can send you the details if you want....

Ok, have the specs saves me some time, sure I can fit you in for the purposes on showing how its done and all that.

After doing some big ships I'm going for a few little ships... but this should fit in.

Stay tuned..

Biggest I have done so far is 2000t

Well, there is that 8,000 ton one... Though that wasn't deckplans just the 3D model.

That's true, still need to get that done, sorry been distracted by one one bad thing and some pretty pictures...

Key is to find something that works for you and learn it well :).

(emphasis mine) Best line in this whole thread.

I personally think CC3 and Cosmographer are awesome - but then I ispent some time to learn how to use them, and and invested more time in practicing with them to be able to use them well. I can whip things out that look great with CC3 in no time at all. I know CC3 so well that I even use it for things like posters, flyers and signs when other software might do the job better, simply because I know how to do it, and do it quickly in CC3.

Whatever software you pick, take the time to truly learn how to use it. It will pay off in the long run. Don't skip from software to software looking for the next great thing that will do the work for you - in the end you'll be no further along, and will have wasted far more time, money and energy than just buckling down and learning one package would have cost you.

Looking good down in the ship yards, the whips and bolt croppers are making the slaves, sorry'employees', work quite fast...

So managed to squeeze out another exciting installment....
