Dead Gaim Queens and Flight Computer Query

Hi,

I have noticed that should you kill all the Gaim queens on the table you suffer a -3/4 mod on the fleets crew quality.

However, I also noticed that all the ships have the flight computer trait which states that a ship will never have a crew quality of less than 4.

Ok, so I understand that traits can be lost etc, but as the way the rules appear to be written it would seem that the flight computer trait takes precedence meaning that killing the Queens is not what it seems.

Is this right? Have I missed something?

queens also get +1cq and that cq is used by all ships so the Gaim have CQ5 until all the queens are dead then go down to CQ4 as long as a flight comp is still active otherwise CQ0.
their init goes down to 0 if you kill the queens too.

Not to 0, but to -3. The text in Protect the Queen says:

...will have its Initiative reduced to -3.

seems like a bit of a redundant special rule then really:

Once your Queens are dead reduce your crew quality by 4 but only if you have lost your flight computer...... meh.

The Queens are still well worth targeting for the double VPs and much reduced initiative though.
