Darkness Rising - Tournament

Hello All

There has been a very kind response to my project so my fevered mind (I have a nasty cold ) is turning to carrying on with it (more stuff in the pipeline) in a different way...............

I wondered if anyone would be interested in a "fun" tournment based around it - probably in August 2008.

If so would people prefer Saturdays or Sunday's?

my starting idea is (still subject to change / amedment)

Skirmish, Raid, Battle engagements (with the of the Army of Light /Darkness rule allowing Vorlon /Shadow Allies)
and the final scenario - each player can use either Chloe Morden/ Lyta Alexander as well for free.

I may even get Derina to make /paint some prizes

thoughts, comments, interest?

Alternatively I may just run a normal tournament..............

Hmm good question - As I got ab fab booby prize at aldershot - superb gold dice - have to think on it

Present idea for format (work in progress - comments appreciated)

3 Battles (all with at least 4 pieces of terrain)

1. Planetfall - 1 raid ship plus 4 pts Skirmish,

2. Assassination (variant) - 5 pts Raid, each player also recieves either a Unique Admiral from their fleet list or a generic Admiral - normal ship placement rules apply (highest PL ship / or with Command trait, Chloe must be on a Shadow Star etc). Ship with Admiral is the target of the Assassination. Both players may keep one ship in Hyperspace

3. Annihilation 3 pts War, each player must include a War or Armegedon level ship, they also receive either Chloe (in Shadow Star) or Lyta (in Mothership) depending on their race.

Army of Light / Darkness Rules - each player may choose upto 1 pt of Shadow or Vorlon allies per Game, subject to following rules:

Shadow Only - EA, Centauri, Drakh, Narn fleets containing a Project 239 or Drazi fleets containing a DuskHawk,

Vorlon only - Minbari, Psi Corps, An'lashok, Any league fleet containing Abbai or Vree,

Prizes:

1st prize - Total Victory hopefully Painted by Derina, 2nd Prize - Shadow Star (as before), last - TBC
