Dark Conspiracy "Eras" Graphic Novel?

With the release of Far Trader as a graphic novel, I began to wonder: what if Dark Conspiracy received the same treatment? Imagine a series that follows a cast of iconic characters across the different eras, beginning with The Unseen War and expanding as each new core rulebook is published.

Such a project could stand alone as an engaging read, while also serving as a companion to the RPG, helping to illustrate and enrich the setting. I’m not sure how practical it would be, but it’s certainly something I’d love to see realized.

Set the way back machine to 1991 when GDW released Dark Conspiracy 1st edition. It was soon followed in 1992 by the Dark Conspiracy novels “Fiddleback Trilogy” a science fiction horror trilogy by Michael A. Stackpole, featuring the books A Gathering Evil, Evil Ascending, and Evil Triumphant. These were great along side the cover art of Larry Elmore and the interior art at helping us understand the tone of a completely new game.

That said there was an issue as Mike was writing his trilogy (more cyberpunk feel) while the designer Lester Smith was still designing and writing the game (universal horror). This resulted in the books and games not always having the same feel.

That said, a graphic novel would be great to help set the tone of the new edition and share its world’s history. Nudge, nudge…talk to Stackpole….
