Dan Dare's Dream

This is just me claiming bragging rights. Last year the Mopra Telescope Team here in Oz needed some funding. I chucked in a fair whack of dough for their galactic survey and that allowed me naming rights over one of the molecular clouds they surveyed.

So when you are drawing your galactic maps don't forget to mark down the cloud henceforth known as Dan Dare's Dream. It's at galactic coordinates 320.3 longitude and -0.31 latitude at a distance of 5.367 kiloparsecs from Earth. :D

Very cool! Can you link a photograph, or image at some other wavelength if it's not visually interesting?

I would assume that the IAU would not officially recognize a name granted that way, but unofficial names are often more widely used than official names anyway. For example, who can remember the official name for the Coat-hanger asterism without looking it up? And I'm not sure whether the IAU even deals with names of molecular clouds, so maybe your name is as official as it gets.
