Cults exist in Legend and a sample writeup is provided in the rulebook, pretty much identical to the one in the MRQ II. However, because these institutions are setting-specific, it is left to the individual GM to determine what kind of cults they want in their campaign setting. However, the Age of Treason setting contains some nice cult write ups if you want some ideas, and material from MRQ I and MRQ II is still largely compatible.
Thanks for that. I made up some of my own cults for my own setting and was wondering if they had a place were I to transfer my campaign to the Legend system.
I don't know how the cult rules were in MRQ1, because I don't have that book. But Legend's cult rules are almost the same as the rules in MRQ2. In Legend they have dropped the rules for cult runes, mythic resonance and divine intervention. First one is understandable because it's clearly Glorantha specific, but there's no reason why other game worlds couldn't have myths and divine interventions. Besides that they have dropped any references to spirit cults and replaced example spirit guild with assassins guild. This is bit funny, because Legend still has additional rules for spirit magic and shamans and IMO example spirit cult would help novice game masters to understand better how this whole shaman stuff is supposed to work.

The Elric of Melnibone setting, particularly Cults of the Young Kingdoms, also have excellent cult write ups.
Those cults are excellent, but it takes bit of improvising if you use just Legend and don't own MRQ2 book, because they dropped some of the cult rules which Elric setting uses from the Legend core book. In similar manner elemental stats are missing, because Legend core book don't have those and Elric's core rules or cult book don't give those, because those were in MRQ2 core book. This can cause troubles if your cult gives you access to elementals. But other than that I think those cults work perfectly with Legend.
I was rooting around my parents house and found the Guilds, Cults and Factions book for MRQ1, so I am pretty satisfied now. I might post my own homebrew cults up when I have them detailed some more for commentary/input/advice.
