Creating a character of "Living Glorantha"

Mongoose
I am interested in the living campaign. I am inscribed in a club that wants me to be the game master.
If the players want to join, they must be registered in the web, right? Should I be registered, too, or only the player characters?

So, should I wait to do a session? Will mongoose publish the scenarios? Or should I contact with anyone?

Must be the characters humans? If someone wants to be a mostali, or an elf, should they create their character with 80 characteristic design points? I remember that there was a table in the GM handbook with different points for each race, but I do not know how must we do it in living Glorantha.

Thank you.

Only the players need register their characters; as GM you don't need to do so.

To begin with, characters should be human. Non-humans will receive their own character creation guidelines in the future but for now, Living Glorantha supports humans only.

The Living Glorantha scenarios will be published and made available from the website in middle to late July. They'll be run first at Continuum and then made generally available.

Thank you Loz. I will wait with expectation. I wish there would be a Continuum in Spain.

Now that we are introduced this dude -characteristic design points-, could I use that table to create characters in my games? Or could it unbalance the creation progress in RQ2?

The table in the old GMs' Guide should be fine. However, if you have a player with a troll character who turns up to play in a Living Glorantha convention game it could pose problems until we launch non-human races. For home play though, it shouldn't be an issue.

I will use human for living glorantha. The question was about creating characters for personal games only.
Thank you very much!

Could an orlanthi be part of a party with a hsunchen?
How can I know which races / pantheons / backgrounds are enemies between them?
Or can I play a session with an EWF adventurer and a God Learner without problems in the living campaign? Which are the restrictions?

Yes, an Orlanthi and a Hsunchen could easily play together.

EWF and God Learners might not get on that well, but EWF and Malkioni would be possible. Don't forget that not all Malkioni are God Learners, and not all members of the Middle Sea Empire are Malkioni.

Trolls/Dwarves/Elves (Uz/Mostali/Adryami) hate each other.
Trolls/Storm Bull/Orlanth hate Chaos.
Dara Happa hates Darkness/Trolls.

But, that's not really relevant. Individuals can always transcend cultural difficulties and adventure with racial/religious enemies. It just takes a bit of patience and leeway.

I have understood you. However it is difficult for me to translate that what I want to say.
From your point of view, I could do any group in Living Glorantha. I want to do a session, so I need to know if there is any restriction in the character creation regarding regions / backgrounds.
For exemple, my girlfriend wants to play a zistorite or a zzabur (sorcerer background of Brithos), but the other players have hsunchen, orlanthis, EWF... so would it be possible combine a group with one zistorite and a hsunchen or an orlanthi? (it is an exemple, but there would be much more).
I am using the table of the old book "Gods of Glorantha" wich indicates the relationship between different pantheons. I would need something like this with the relationship between empires / backgrounds / races, because there is no information.
Should I ignore this and forget stereotypes completely?

Could the characters select equipment and weapons from Arms & Equipment and choose the Gladiator profession from Monster coliseum, or are they restricted to the use of the core rulebook and glorantha, second age?

Character choices are limited to the core rules and Glorantha book. Equipment is limited to the core rules.

Its easier this way and helps keep things consistent. Not everyone will have A&E and/or MC although the core rules and Glorantha books are going to be common currency for anyone playing in Living Glorantha.

I reopen this post again because I need help choosing characters for the second living glorantha adventure:
What kind of pc are more appropriated for this adventure? Middle sea characters? Malkioni? Any character that could sympathize with them?
Any help would be appreciated beacuse we do not control Glorantha a lot. :)

Hi,

I would recommend at least one person who uses sorcery and is directly allied to the MSE would be a must, the rest could be retainers, allies etc.
