Hello everyone. I'm back with another quick query for the community.
A player in my PbP game recently raised the question: "Are we using the range table from High Guard?" I am a new GM, and had missed this table (HG page 73) on my skim of the book. I am all for using the most up to date edition of the rules, but am left a little confused here as HG does not specifically state that this new table supersedes the table found in the Core Rulebook (page 148), nor does it define the "optimum range" for existing weapons such as pulse lasers and particle beams. You can figure this out easily enough by consulting the range table in the CRB, but I would have expected this to have been explicitly provided if indeed I am to throw the CRB range tables out. Still, it feels like the intention is for me to supersede the CRB range table with the HG range table, but thought I would ask the community's advice, first. So:
If you have access to the Core Rulebook and High Guard, which range table do you use?
Thanks for any assistance you all can give.
