Convert B5 Wars Fighters Into Ships For ACTA!

I'm a big fan of the B5 Wars scale fighters.
I'd love to see Mongoose bring them into ACTA has either patrol level ships or civilian alien ships.
My favorites are the Centauri Rutarian (awesome design), the Delta V's (please give us this as a patrol level choice for Raiders in ACTA), the Vorlon fighter ( this would fit into scale nicely with ACTA, since the change to the smaller Transport.)
Then there is the Kotha,Sentri,Frazi,Thorun etc, all cool models!
An added bonus, Mongoose owns them!

Take one of the old Nials, turn them broad side up, put it onto a small flying base, et voilá: A Minbari turret!

what on earth would a starfury model be!?

not in favour of it myself, the Vree could just about get away with it, the WS fighter is disappointing
plus many people still use them for fighter wings

The Vree did get away with it. The little patrol boat is a Tzymm fighter model from B5 Wars...

That I think was the point: But seriously, other fighters that I think could get away with it (and would work well):

Shadow fighter: Nicely detailed and not with features like windows that would look silly and oversised. Would make a good skirmish ship I reckon.

Vorlon Fighter: actually looks relatively different to the FA scale version due to having much thiner individual 'spines' at the forn. Would be good as light attack craft.

Dilgar Thoruns: Are actually really detailed cool looking little ships that would make nice attack craft imho. Not really needed though as theres plent of choice for those races.

Overall Id say the Vorlon and Shadow ones would be a good idea though as both races could use a few more choices.

The Minbari Flyer could be a patrol boat, or a civilian ship.

As I said, the Nial is a nice turret.

The Starfury? Maybe it could be an alternative Myrmidon?

And even though many people still use the old fighters for their flights (as I do with my Minbari), Mongoose can practically do what they want with them, as and when needed - like with the FA scale White Star being the new WS Fighter.

BTW; hasn´t there been some talk about a B5 dogfighting game which might come sometimes in the future, and that would use the old fighters? I think it was a post from Matt in which he talked about possible coming B5 products (talking of which, does anyone know where War wirhout end is currently standing?)

Yes there was talk about a B5 dogfighting game, but i'm guessing Matt is very busy and none of the forum members stepped up with any tangible game :twisted:
War Without End has also ceased due to the same reason. With BEVo, and SST 2nd Edit, and ACTA 2nd Edit, they just don't have the staff power to develope the concept right now.

Completely agree - the mdoels are there - the two races in question need the ships - all good

One of the reasons i would like to see more patrol ships (the B5 Wars fighters) is that ACTA priority levels have gone upwards with Arma etc.
So why not expand the range in Patrol/Skirm too?
If there was enough choices for each fleet in the lower priorities u could expand the game downwards too.
Would be great for games when you haven't got a lot of time, you could opt for 5PT Patrol/Skirm games.
Also i hate to see the B5 Wars fighters not being fully utilized.
A side benefit of upgrading these to ships , would be that players who use them as proxy fighter flights would have to buy the smaller fighters :lol:

And those players would get an immediate boost in fleet size as well - I like the idea!

Well there are some B5 Wars fighters that aren't suitable like the Starfury/Thunderbolt etc.
Perhaps they'll be resurrected if we ever seen War Without End
