convert Conan over to runequest!

Alas there's many debates on this subject, both on the Conan and RQ forum, this one being one of the latest:

It seems we won't see anything like a RQ Conan for a while. There's a BRP version of Conan lurking on the net, but I think it's only available in French.
If Mongoose cancelled the RQ Conan project, our only hope is to see Vincent publish his work, maybe as a semi pro pdf...
Until then, cook your own pot or use (painfully) OGL.

If you have d20 Conan or even a good grasp of the Hyborian age you can start today. I'm only passing familiar with the new RQ through the SRD but most things look similar.

I guess it's nice to have everything in one book but if you gotta play you gotta play. I hacked Hyboria into Elric! without too much trouble.

That's one of the nice things about RQ/BRP (is it a faux pas to say that, I'm new here). Because the system is relatively simple it is very easy to adapt existing material to it. My own RQ games have contained elements of everything from Glorantha to Planescape to Palladium to Moorcock.

If you have d20 Conan, convert it. If you don't check out the Conan sites around and develop some material. It's easy, and fun. :D

Long answer.....NO. PLEASE NO.

I don't agree. I tend to think that the D20 2nd Ed killed the game. Maybe a RQ edition would have bought some fresh blood...

I don't think 2nd edition killed the game. Lots of life still in the Conan RPG with April being a really big month. Runequest is even more niche than Conan D20 which is already a niche game. I would rather go up - 4th edition - than down - Runequest - on the popularity scale if I want the game to continue to be supported. Just my 2 cents.
