Conan with miniatures

Foundery and Gripping Beast are the best sources for your mooks, and Reaper for heroes. Foundery and Reaper have great hero character lines, and the former sells them by the pack, so you get several hero types in one blister.

Foundery is a little pricey, but not much moreso thatn GB. Reaper are the home team from here in Texas, and have some phenomenal artists doing thier sculpts.

Yep, Foundery is a little pricey. Last time I got a set, it cost me $18 (when pewter was cheeper) for a set of 6 Gladiators plus shields. I also wanted to get some of the Elven Ravanants, but they cost full price just for a pair of vampire/elves/whatever and a pair of filler cherubs/fairy folk/whatever.

I'm also looking into getting some Bronze Age Miniatures. For me, the draw of this line in the Dead Earth sets that are based on Edgar Rice Burroughs Barsoom Saga. They have a modest number of other minis, but they are still new and are always looking things to produce.

When I noted that Reaper's D&D-like minis look better then Wizbros shitty minis, I kid you not - Their D&D-like minis are the best! Just check them out: Beholder, Displacer Beast, Graz'zt, Loloth, Fraz-Urb'luu, Cthulhu, Chasme, Demogorgon, Orcus, Type I (Vrock), Type II Demon (Hezrou), Type III Demon (Glabrezu), Type IV Demon (Nalfeshnee), Type V Demon (Marilith) (and another one), Ice Devel, Hill Giant (and another one), Fire Giant, Frost Giant, Stone Giant, Purple Worm Andro-sphinx, Gyno-sphinx, and countless others (listed by different names). If you cant afford or paint the metal ones, Reaper also sells some in plastics called Legendary Encounters (and yes, they are not random like D&D/Mage Knight sets).

If your are an old-school Grognard like me, Otherworld Miniatures produce minis that are ripped from the old 1e AD&D books!

I think I'm gonna have to hit my local hobby shop and see if they carry some of the 1:35 scale plastic minis. The Romans, Gauls, and Crusades minis look awesome and will accent my Aquilonian based campaign quite nicely.

I don't paint minis either, but having them in colour doesn't make a huge difference to me. It's more just to "know" where everybody is on the battlefield.

I just recently found this site and they are pretty new to the mini scene Warlord Games. They only make Roman and Celt mini's so far which are 28mm and come in both plastic and metal and are made for the Warhammer: Ancient Battles table top game. The celts in particular would make some good Cimmerian and wild Hyborian minis.

Too many opinions/options. I need a silver bullet here. :)

I'm looking for cheap, which I guess means plastic, minis, that are the same size as wotc's (so I can use them with the ones me and my players have), that are a "good fit" for hyborian races. What do you recommend?

I'm a Warhammer player (amongst many other things gaming-wise), and I find that many of the Citadel models are good stand-ins if not the best representations. Besides the various human-type minis, there are a lot of undead, demonic, and monster minis as well. The scale works very well for the system, too, so they're my choice, but I know that they can be a bit pricey for some! Citadel models would probably not be my first choice if I didn't already have them.
