Conan on the xbox

Heard mixed reviews about it... I prefer (Believe it or not) first person shooters though, as RPG's on Video game machines tend to be limited in what you can do. Now, if they came out with one for the PC, that would be another story...

Very repetitive. Tedious boss battles. Lot's of gore.

It was fun for the first level or so. Then it becomes way too much of the same old thing. Very hack and slash....a few puzzle type obstacles thrown in.

Played a bit ona mates - linear but fun - amusing encounters with captive women - "overpower me with your love" etc when you release her from chains

Blood & Gore. Check. :)
Intense Violence. Check. :D
Nudity. Check.

Well it sound like a Conan game to me (that or God of War!).

I give it a thumbs-up.

Certainly not as polished as Assassin's, and yes somewhat straightforward, but they did a good job capturing the flavor, and the violence of Conan.

I dig the different ways each boss dies (all brutal). My favorite was the giant squid who Conan finishes by charging into its maw, killing it from the inside, then climbing out the eye socket (after popping the giant eyeball out).

I started to play the game and was fairly amused. Then I noticed that the second 5 minutes was no different from the first. The 3rd, 4th, and 5th 5 minute segments of the game were the same. Very linear and very repetitive for my taste.

What really killed it for me was the oversized two hander weapons in the game. I suddenly felt like I was playing some lame anime style game where everyone carries around giant oversized swords to compensate for their lacking on other areas.

Played through and beat it. Worth a rental but probably not a purchase. Some truly enjoyable killing moves and a variety of play styles based on weapon choices. I chose two-sword combat, which proved to be a mistake.
