Conan: Hyrkania and Turan

You're not the only one. Many Conan fans have been clamoring for this book, and with good reason. More than one of REH's stories, plus countless comics and pastiches, were set in Turan/Hyrkania. I for one am surprised Mongoose hasn't done this sourcebook yet, while they've already covered TWO regions that REH only made vague references to - Cimmeria and Khitai. Go figure!

Turan is a FUNDAMENTAL area for any conan campaign.
Much more than useless Cimmeria.....
..and I really hope Vincent Darlage will write it, as any other regional book coming!!!!
It is really a pity that Cimmeria (useless book, whoever the author...) and Khitai were written by somebody else.....
I'm not against L.Whittaker as a rpg author....but his book on Khitai, even if is a good generic fantastic chinese book, MISSES many Conan details published elsewhere...
...while Vincent mentions even the Marvel comics!!
Vincent is the Best Conan author for Conan-related setting-books, I still do not know why you allowed somebody else to write those books...
...I'm happy this happend in MINOR regions (Khitai and Cimmeria) but a Turan book written by the same author or Khitai and not by Vincent would be really a missed opportunity to me....
Furthermore L.Whittaker does not look to me to be very good with Conan D20 rules....his sorcery and classes chapters in Khitai are so full of errata and things one should complain about.....

I believe our much admired Mr. Darlage wrote an S&P article on the Hyrkanians. It was less (meaning not a full book) than we could hope for but it bodes well for the future I believe...
I've been screaming for this book for some five years now. A major nation of the world with dreams of conquest, Turan is totally unavoidable in Conan and it's really a shame nothing has been done about it so far (if you except the Aghrapur or Hyrknians articles in S&P).
I found Cimmeria and Kithai not so bad as you say, even if I must admit there was far more useful regional sourcebooks to print before these two (Turan/Hyrkania, Zamora, Zamboula...). I like Loz work, even if his knowledge of the Hyborian World probably don't match with Vincent's.
I can understand a Cimmeria book for the popularity of the name, but why Kithai is far over my head. My theory is that the book was already more or less written as a generic Chinese D20 supplement and that it has been adapted for Conan. This is of course pure speculation on my behalf. Just wondering why... :roll:
