The descriptive text for Conan 2e mentions an Introductory adventure as part of the books contents. I was wondering what the title of the adventure is and where it takes place and just how long is it? Plus, I assume it is for 1st level heroes?
I think intro adventures in core books are waste of pages anyway. Not everyone uses them and those who do only do it once - or a few times at maximum. Providing starter adventure is good help for beginner GM's, but why spend core book pages on it? Easier to put i just available as PDF for free or something like that.
So I'm glad to know that the new core book has not wasted pages for that.
Thanks for the info Chris - I'll look for it in Signs & Portents. I've always enjoyed the introductory adventures in the core rulebooks - just makes it that much easier for new GM's and buyers to pay and play - which is what we have always done after rolling up a character. Plus, we didn't get one in 1e and it would've been a cool distinction with 2e - plus you are advertising it in your 2e summary!
That's not necessarily true. 'The Haunting,' which has been in every edition of the Call of Cthulhu RPG, has been repeatedly run by many GMs, as evidenced by numerous threads discussing the scenario on the yog-sothoth.com. A good introductory scenario will always remain a good introductory scenario, and a good game will always need one. Maybe that's just one reason by Call of Cthulhu has always been successful - there's something ready and waiting for new GMs to run or an experienced GM to run for new players.
