Commander's Circle (for FC/ACtA:SF comparisons)

With some of the errata issues being generated, questions asked about how certain ships look in this or that game system, and so forth, I figured I should post a few links from the Commander's Circle portion of the ADB website.

The Commander's Circle is intended to be a freely-available living resource for Federation Commander players; it's where various low-toner versions of several dozen Ship Cards can be found, along with Master Ship Charts, back issues of the free online Communiqué, and the odd playtest rule or two.

Two sub-sections I would refer to you in particular are:

*for Ship Cards; most (if not quite all) of the units in book 1 of A Call to Arms: Star Fleet have low-toner versions listed here, under the various faction headings,

and

*for the Master Ship Charts; these can help clarify which Ship Cards were published in which FC module, as well as which Squadron and Border Boxes the associated miniatures are tied to.

For those of you who are not ADB BBS or Forum regulars, and for those who are but who might like a few refreshers all the same, I would strongly recommend using these resources liberally in terms of seeing how these units are in another game (and how they may be lined up for future consideration).

Oh, and to clarify, only the Squadron Scale Ship Cards are the "real" versions; feel free to ignore the half-size Fleet Scale versions when trying to gauge a ship's given complement.

Apologies for the double post; but in light of recent clarifications, I figured I might add a link to e23's entry for the Federation Commander Reference Rulebook.

For those who are familiar with SFB but not FC, or who are familiar with neither (nor with Starmada) but who might like to see what the fuss is about, the RRB is an ideal one-stop shop for the rules needed for the Alpha Octant empires already in ACtA:SF, as well as those likely to be in the pipe sooner or later.

Have this book, and can strongly recommend it for mentioned reasons - with this and the Commanders Circle info, all becomes less muddied when talking ships systems and weapons (only 'conjectural' stuff are ISC and Andie' systems, which are covered in the 'War and Peace' set)

The ISC and Andromedan rules from FC: War and Peace have been incorporated into the current revision of the RRB; if you get a copy from e23 (or order a newly-printed copy from ADB) you'll be good to go for both empires.

wasn't aware of that, thanks for up - will look into replacing mine soon (or is it getting rules from Tugs Attacked, if any, added soon ?)

The only rule in the Transports Attacked rulebook is for Tugs and LTTs, which is already in the RRB; so you're good.

If you want to have a FREE look at FedCmdr, check out the 34 page "First Missions" rule book.

It covers just the very basics of Feds and Klingons, but it's enough that you can see how the game works.
