Combat Movement Question

Mongoose
Just a quick question on movement in combat.

Movement is a minor action, and changing stance is a minor action.

Say someone is standing 2 squares away from the cover of some crates. Is there any way for them to shoot, then run and dive into a prone position behind the crates in one turn? Or do they have to walk and stand behind the crates because falling down would have taken to long? This seems downright silly.

Are there rules for simply diving onto your face out of your original square as a minor action, or do you really have to lose your significant action to get into cover?

Thanks.

Oh, one other combat question.

What are the rules for bleeding out? A character who is unconscious or otherwise taken out of the fight but not killed by lethal weaponry: what happens to them? Do they bleed out or are they fine and dandy until they get shot in the head or revived? Obviously their attributes take time + medical help to fix up, I am just talking about right away, in the heat of battle and the aftermath.

Huh, I was under the impression that going 'down the ladder' was free (ie - Standing -> Crouching -> Prone). But going back 'up the ladder' required the minor actions.

But now that you mention it and reading through the rules more specifically, it does seem to imply that any stance chance is a minor action regardless.

Here's my quick houserule:

You can drop prone as a free action, but its just you falling flat on your face. Next turn you have to spend a minor action to get yourself into a usable position (when you are flat on your face you can't parry, dodge, shoot weapons, etc, you just slammed into the floor). Makes sense and keeps balance I feel.

Anyway, one more question. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SLUG PISTOLS AND RIFLES BUT ONE DAMN SHOTGUN?

Am I missing something? Every other weapon type has more than shotgun, what gives?

Wait for Central Supply Catalogue.

I would allow that as a reaction to targeting. If successful you notice and drop or duck etc. Seems right.

What are the differences in shotguns?
single barrel
double barrel (side by side)
double barrel (over / under)
Pump action
Auto shot gun

The answer is the number of rounds. 1,2,2,5,5+ respectfully. The rest is the same. Damage, range, shot pattern, ammo. The only shotgun that is different would be the sawed-off shotgun and that would be in range and shot pattern

Guage and choke are also variables...

Well, the thing is, if you can't get to medical help, you'll bleed out.

If I'm reading the rules correctly, you got one shot at medical first aid , until you get to a sickbay. if thattakes longer than a day, you're gonna lose points, since your endurance is gone to 0, with the -2 mod.

I'm guessing if the PC has been shot and survives the battle, even seriously wounded, they are okay enough to go for a few hours till first aid.

But a PC that is all three stats at 0, maybe that's what you are talking.. bleeding out, beyond help, over the next few minutes or so...

I don't think it's designed to be a case of fine fine fine all 0 instant dead, even though the rules show that.

But clearly to me, there are no rules for bleeding, other than the natural healing rules, per se. Bleeding out means, fatal wound earlier on, all stats to 0.

To me.
