Hello!

Three questions about “Close Blast Doors And Activate Defense Grid” special action:

1. do we roll separatly for damage and crew loses?
2. when do we roll? Before we apply damage modyfiers (double/triple/quad) AND critical hits effects or after (there will be a lot of rolling)?
3. Could we roll for critical hits effects (eg. Engine disabled)?

IMO answers should be YES, AFTER and NO, but this isn’t clear for us.

Yes, each damage point and each crew point is individually rolled.
2. when do we roll? Before we apply damage modyfiers (double/triple/quad) AND critical hits effects or after (there will be a lot of rolling)?
You roll after you've resolve the critical effects, but before you determine any explosion. Yep, if it's got triple damage you're going to be rolling for all three points per hit. Critical EFFECTS can't be cancelled but all damage from them can.
3. Could we roll for critical hits effects (eg. Engine disabled)?
Yep.
 
1) Yes, roll individually for damage and crew.
2) In our group we roll for each point of damage after it's been doubled/tripled/etc, so a single normal triple damage hit would cause 3 rolls to ignore damage and 3 rolls to ignore crew loss.
3) No, don't roll for the critical hit effects. You only roll for points of damage or crew loss.
 
3. Roll to prevent the critical effect or do you get to roll for the effect?

You (the attacker) will be able to roll the check to see which effect the ship will suffer but you (the defender) can't use CBD! to prevent an effect from taking place.
