Cloaked Romulan SHips

I'm guessing they will be the easiest to bring into play. Only the bases will need prep, name/number, firing/turn points etc.

Yeah, but a thin/light ink wash could seep into the crevices and help bring out the detail (such as those lovely birds of prey under the Eagle Series)

Definitely....

Unless you are a ham-handed painter like me

Being a non-painter, what is a ink wash?

Several companies also make dedicated Inks or "washes" in various colors. My friends jokingly refer to GW's Devlan Mud wash (a blackish brown) and/or Badab Black as "the wonder wash" for lazily shading miniatures for several games.

As an example, here is a mini given a basic coat of flat colors, no shading or anything.

And the same mini after a wash of black. From the look of it, he went light on the skin areas but heavy on the clothes and metal.
