Clarification request between Gars lashings of xmas pudding

Currently, its hard to know what to say about the ship design system without knowing if the issue with power plants is yet to be resolved (ie powerplant letter able/not able to run the same rated drives); and if not, how things are intended to work. Should ships for (instance )have minimal max G and laser firing power ? Is it intended that a given plant should run the corresponding drive, or is that just our fixation on CT ?
In other words, are these issues bugs or features ?

...Gar ? I know you're busy and enjoying Christmas, but could you give us a hint ?

I'm overhauling the PP system. My personal preference is that energy management will be a factor, but it's also an ironclad certainty that a Power Plant will be able to provide enough power to run all drives of the same type, to avoid invalidating any existing design.
