A couple of questions about the Drone variants in Update 2. Apologies if these have already been answered.

1) Armoured Drones take two phaser or ADD hits to destroy. Can ADDs only score one hit against each drone in a salvo (leaving the drones damaged but still flying), or do they re-roll (killing the drones but increasing their odds of running out of ammunition)?

2) If a ship has more than one Drone weapon system line and fires more than one at the same target, does that each weapon system count against the 'three attacks on one target' maximum? Will ADDs treat the whole wave as one attack, or roll against each in turn (possibly running out against the first attack and letting the next one through)?

3) Do Type VI Drones really still have 36" range? And does anything in ACtA:SF currently actually 'have' a Dodge trait?
 
As Billco said these have to get a rewrite before they get released, but....

1) ADDs don't do hits, they just kill - in the released ocument only phasers and tractors had to
reroll hits. So ADDs just kill as normal - they are a dedicated system

2) Its not 3 attacks, its 3 ships may attack...so the limit is by ship not by weapon systems. Drones like any other weapons technically are processed system by system and like a drone rack loaded Salvage cruiser - multiple drone systems means multi-ADD rolls, but yes you can run them out between racks, which is the big advantage of multiple racks (more than the extra AD IMO). Same with defensive fire decisions too note....so you may force an extra phaser or two out with several small racks on one ship/

3) Hmm, don't have the fleetupdate 2 here and redownloaded it and any rules for type VIs are gone. Without the details to hand I cannot check them, they might still be standard range in the first fleetupdate 2 release but they seem to have gone now from the available document. Dodge in the ACTA ruleset is a feature of Fighters, so the Type VI traits were targetted at future development including fighters.

On second thoughts, I'll ignore it for now. I was going to use the Kzinti DND and some ships with Armoured Drones in an upcoming campaign, but TBH they do look pretty broken.
 
I believe the general consensus was back to the drawing board on the drones. The point values on the Update 2 ships were also pretty much out of bounds as well.
 
Certainly how I viewed the drone section. I certainly applaud the basic idea and some of the ideas worked, indeed some were necessary long term but there was an attempt to port over a feature for every drone type in the SFU - some of which are essentially abstracted out already and some of the port features were much more appropriate for another drone type - so yes needs a rewrite to give the right features to the right drone and not bother with the unnecessary ones.
