ok ok sry about my last post i guess i over reacted.... but why does STARSHIP TROOPERS have to go!!! why cant t be the RPGS and the stuff thats not that popular...
RPGs ARE doing problems. Maybe not exactly for MGP, but the RPG market in general has a REALLY big problem.
Just look at all these RPG companies going down over the last years. Fanpro is gone (they gave up all their RPGs), White Wolf has massive problems (though they created them theirselves), Feder und Schwert got problems, too (gave up WoD). Pegasus can just afford keeping RPGs because they earn themselves a golden nose with things like munchkin and zombies and appeararently Cthullu is always doing well.
I know the RPG community because I am involved in it (actually wirting on a yet very popular though not even released RPG) and I can tell you it's a dying community.
You must be more than lucky to dig up a Convention that has more than 200 visitors these days. Many conventions in my area already gave up.
Of course this is caused by many factors (no new players, companies getting stuck to the old horses and not bringing up the courage to try something REALLY new, laziness of old players, D20-mania, no need for ANOTHER new Edition of XY, lack of advertise and some others), but at the end of the day it doesn't look that good for RPGs these days.
