So my group is heading back to the Third Imperium after a very long absence. I have one major complaint, what happened to the Character Record? It was hands down the gold standard for expanded character sheets and it isn't available to purchase on either the Mongoose site or DriveThru. So a quick poll, would you buy it if available as a PDF?

If you mean the old Classic sheet from the CT Forms and Charts supplement, nah.

Updated for Mongoose 2e? Possibly but unlikely.

I am teaching myself the Affinity Design suite and Traveller forms, maps and so on are great projects to learn with so I’d likely make my own for each campaign.

Check out the TAS program on DriveThru RPG, there’s a couple decent fan-made ones for use with Mongoose.

Three years ago, I did my own character sheets in Libre Office. It is three pages long, as it includes a list of all the skills, specialisations and subs-specialisations inspired from the Traveller Companion book, regardless of whether they were competent skills or not.
Now I seen the Update 2022 character sheet, I really like it, and might revert to using that one, as it is quite compact and glitzy in a sci-fi kind of way.

However I can see a "unified character sheet" in PDF form, two sided being useful for those playing a physical game.

Yes two sided is long enough. I now realise I could have provided an at-a-glance skills checklist for them to peruse, instead of bloating out a CS. I can export to PDF via the word processor, if needed.

It was an expanded sheet in folio format from Mongoose 1E, available either individually or in packs of 5 if I remember correctly. Made it super easy to keep track of all your allies, enemies, etc. Have different load outs for different situations. Vehicle and ship information. As a PDF it would be even better as you would only need to print out the pages you need.

I looked that up on DTRPG and only got Garath's revision for 2e:

That is the only relevant item under that author name.

If you want, you could do an online Image search for your pack item. That way you could spot the image that most looks like the 1e version that you were previously familiar with.

Just scroll thru gallery of image matches. If you identify any image as the correct one, click on the image and follow the presented link to get to the resource. Can't guarantee the image you might find will be downloadable, etc. But you can at least try this as a different approach to finding what you request.

While better than the base sheet it isn't as good. When I say it was the gold standard I don't just mean for Traveller, it was the best expanded character sheet I've come across for any game I've ever played.

But it is available, whereas the other is not.
In any case, I was only answering the poll question as a reply, since my answer is technically yes and no. No, I would not buy one now, because I already did buy one.
