I've never heard of this 1988 computer game nor the novels they were based on, but I do know a lot about Bohemia Interactive who made Operation Flashpoint, Armed Assault, ArmaII, and expansions for each (not to mension the professional combined forces training system called Virtual Battlespace).
Looks like BI are doing a remake and it may prove to be some really great sci-fi inspiration.
