I was always under the impression that primer had an adhesive property to it. Is it just black paint?

Car shop. I have no idea how people keep there cars running. But, I can't just go shopping around town.

It's debatable. It's apparently easier to do a thin and even coat with a spray can, and most spray paints are designed to cling to surfaces better. Slightly watered down black (or grey or white) paint does the trick just fine in my expierence.

you could just do many coats of paint, thats the hard way, spray paints if you can get them, or maybe a dip into watered down black paint.
