Cancellation of Crusade

I've heard Crusade was cancelled because of some kind of conflict between JMS and the network and/or TNT but I never got more details. Does anyone here know exactly why it got cancelled?

The rumour was that TNT wanted to give it more of a Soap Opera feel (more Sex and Violence basically), and JMS (Obviousley) resisted.

They couldn't agree, so the show came to a close.

You can read more about it here http://worldsofjms.com/crusade/cancel.htm

There's a bit more to it than that. At the Hawthorne Comic Con a couple of years ago JMS explained the politics that went on behind it.

Basically, TNT wanted out, but they had to play it a particular way - by making demands that they knew would never be met.

It is important to reiterate for those that don't remember/know, too, that the show was cancelled before a single episode ever aired. So it wasn't a case like Firefly where it was just "oops, you're gone now" -- we knew from the first episode that the show was cancelled and that would be the end of that.

Personally, I didn't really like Crusade. I thought the 'Legend of the Rangers' movie should have spun-off into a series and could have done well.

TNT just demonstarted their lack of imagination. Look at the garbage on there now. Nothing I'd ever consider watching.
