Campaign started today :)

So things went great. One player absent, but with 3 it still went great. It was a bit hectic and chaotic. I borrowed an idea someone posted here, and mixed things up. Spoken shortly, a local priest of an Issaries subcult had turned to god learner philosophy, and had a plan to bind a powerfull troll ancestor spirit into a lead statue, as a weapon.

The cue for the characters was to investigate the cult possibly being able to convert lead to gold.

Enter a pair of zorak zoran devotees not keen on abusing a troll hero like this, and a great three way battle erupted. Not sure if it even makes sense in "real" glorantha, but in ours, it damn well does.

They each have a bit of magic now, the Jrusteli learning sorcery healing, and the other two getting a rune each. Im rather convinced though, that I'll use the idea I've seen mentioned, that if you belong to a cult, you can learn any rune magic spell tied to that cults runes, you just have to learn the skill normally.

A good time was had by all, though they hate mostali now, after an unpleasant encounter with a few of them in a deep, dank lead mine :D

Good luck! My experiences with Glorantha have boiled down to the following advice:

Just play. Don't agonize over things. Have fun. It is much easier than it looks. :D

It ended up being a bit lighter on those, than I had hoped, since they didnt uncover some bits of information I had figured they would. But players never do as expected :)

In the end, they did have to choose between supporting the crazy priest and the zorak zoran devotees, whom they had originally pegged as bad guys, so that was fun
