Book 16?

Hi Mongoose

Looking forward to the imminent release of Book 15 - one of my faves and one of the best books in the entire series. It feels like LW really goes on a journey, literally and with the fortunes of war.

However I notice there is no release date yet for Legacy of Vashna - another great book - any idea on this one?

It took us fifteen books, but we have learned the lesson - Book 16 will appear on the web site when it has been sent to print

Book 15, by the way, is in Mr Dever's hands right now and, with the printers primed for its arrival, we are hoping to start shipping it before the end of the month.

Woo hoo! I better hurry and get another 'back up' character ready to go through that adventure, two might not be enough to guarantee a survivor making it to book 16.

Of course you could have put the books up as "Quarter 1" etc. to give yourself a little leaway.

Clearly this isn't happening. Nor is the later post about the book being shipped out by the end of Febrauary. Nor is the current listing of it as a March release likely to be correct either.

I'm assuming that the "full-time Lone Wolf staff" and "new commitment" aren't happening and that I should go back to expecting 1 to 2 books per year?

Let's put it this way, I haven't been holding my breath...

I thought at the time it was at best overly optimistic, at worse barking-at-the-moon-nutty-as-a-fruit-cake-boxer-shorts-on-head-two-pencils-up-the-nose-shouting-wibble-mad-as-a-box-of-frogs.

I'd be happy with one per quarter, but am expecting probably more like a book every four to five months. Last book was what? November last year? Barring a stealth posting in the last couple of days, that makes April best case. Five months. I'm fairly sure back in the day, that's about the speed Joe Dever was writing them.

There was comment in a recent "Planet Mongoose" post admitting they'd failed to meet (and indeed couldn't do so) the "State of the Mongoose" schedule. I think I read somewhere (can't find it now) June/July was the early "unofficial" estimate for book 16, but again, I won't be holding my breath. I'm thinking three books this year, with an optimistic daydream (akin to winning the lottery) of maybe four.

Hi guys,

We do have a target for a number of books this year, and we are more or less on schedule. However, we will not be posting the books up for preorder until they are pretty much at print and we can thus guarantee the release date.

So, you won't see the books pop up on the site so quickly, but when you see them you'll be able to trust the release date.

BTW, we are just awaiting the arrival of Book 15 from the printers - it will be any day now!
