I've seen the list of forthcoming releases, and noted Book 11: Citizen / Scholar on the schedule. It's not the first dual-career Book in the series - Book 1: Mercenary traditionally covers Army and Marine career options, Book 6: Scoundrel covers Rogues and Drifters, and Book 8: Dilettante covers Nobles and Entertainers, so lumping in Citizens and Scholars together has long been an option.

I have been wondering about that title, and I'd like to propose some alternatives.

- Citizen;
- Citizens of the Imperium;
- Professional;
- Worker;
- Commoner;
- Other.

Sooner or later, Book 11 will end up with one of these titles. So it depends on what you would like to see on your bookshelves, next to "Book 11: ...".

Vote away.

I voted for Citizens of the Imperium, as it is a title all the way back from CT days. As the other optional books have already have a history with following the naming conventions from CT, mainly Mercenary, High Guard, and Robots. As well as the alien modules with those names.

Though Citizens of the Imperium was Supplement: 4, not Book: whatever.

Something else, too.

Book 1 was about Army and Marines - they called it Mercenary, giving favour to neither Army nor Marine. Book 6 was about Rogues and Drifters - again, they chose Scoundrel, a term in between. Nobles and Entertainers - they chose Dilettante.

So there is a possibility that the Big Guy will come in and overrule us all and say "Book 11 will be called Scumbag," but I'm either hoping for Prole or Commoner if he does choose.

And if my choice goes through ... no LBB ever focused on the career of Other. Maybe this is its time.

Voted for CotI because it seemed to be the best of the bunch, but none of them really grabbed me. I would love for the subtitle to be A life less ordinary...

It likely won't be 'Citizen of the Imperium' as it's a generic book, not a '3rd Imperium' setting book.

I'd vote for 'Professional' or 'Worker'.
I am now adding your entry to the vote options.

Edit: Now done. The poll entries have now been altered. "Professional" replacing "Plebiscite" and "Worker" replacing "Prole."

If you want to give those some love, please feel free.

Voted for 'Citizen' - recalls the CT title, but remains generic. I do like the suggestion of "A life less ordinary..." for the subtitle!

Citizens of the Imperium sounds cool, because of the past supplement, however it does tend to infer the Book is for use with just one setting, which isn’t ideal.

How about Book 11: Cosmopolite?

The term ‘cosmopolite’ literally means ‘citizen of the cosmos’ and is what cosmopolitan is derived from.

And with that announcement, ladies and gentlemen, all bets are now off.

Unless otherwise stated, Book 11 will now be titled Cosmopolite.

I've already submitted the manuscript: now comes the thing that the editors do. I've seen it. It's never pretty.

I should have said: I'm the author.
