Boarding question for ACTA 2e

Here is the question:
If a ship attemps to iniate a boarding action and is destroyed (result was burnt out hulk on the damage table) in the shooting phase of the same turn, does the boarding action occur if the target was not shot at and the burnt out hulk is still within 4" of the target?

The boarding part of the action actually takes place as part of the shooting action of the ship doing the boarding SA. So if the boarding ship has acted before it was destroyed, the troops have been transfered and the conflict part of the action occurs in the end phase. If the ship was destroyed before takes its action in the shooting phase, the breaching pods and assault shuttles will not leave their launch bays and the troops will die with the ship.

Similarly if the boarding ship suffers a no special actions crit before it acts in the shooting phase, the boarding action is aborted.
