Beyond the 20th level

Obviously if they're 20th level they've had a long career/history behind them.

Obviously but where are you gonna go from that point? End the campaign, let the PCs stuck in that "experience bubble", carry it on infinitely letting them grow ever stronger along with the entire world? That's the problem to face here. Besides, the 20-level Bard...

Like I said above, this would be end-game material. We'll do an adventure or 2 at 20th level and after that the book closes. It's not a problem for me. There's a set ending. It's 3-5 years away from now (it's taken the PCs 3 years to get to level 7). And it'll have to be epic in scope such as The Hour of the Dragon and The Scarlet Citadel.
