As SST will no longer see the light of day, I've stumbled upon an idea that I think a lot of Sci-Fi 28mm gamers will really like.
The rules for Battlefield Evolution work, it is a simple fact that they are some of the best (if not the best) rules for 28mm unit based games. The rules also have the great ability to be adapted for a wide selection of eras.
What I'm suggesting is a genric Sci-Fi book, that has the rules for the game and also rules for a lot of the 28mm Sci-Fi miniatures available in the market. The way to deal with the legal work is to change the names of the units/weapons/armies/etc, and show no photographs of miniatures.
For example.
Mobile Infantry become Earth Colonies.
Aracnids become Species 101
Skinnies become Sticks.
Etc... I really think it would work, I know I'd buy a copy of it, as would a lot of people at my club who play 40k.
