Battlefield Evolution: Open Content

The cores rules won't be included in Vassal mods.
Like the ACTA mod, counters with stats.
So it includes the contents of the Sky Full of Stars counter set and the Fleet book? Both of these are things that Mongoose should be paid for...

While Mongoose is using the term 'Open Content', it doesn't mention the actual license that will be used. Will you use the OGL, and if not, why not?

The reason I ask is that if you don't release it under the OGL, it isn't compatible with the OGL. So combining these two would not be possible. I personally would find it interesting to look at the possibility of using the EVO rules for a fantasy miniature game. Using the OGC IP from WotC would be very usefull.

Ummmm.... It's own licence? It won't be released under the OGL since it's not a D20 style game?

The OGL isn't exclusive to D20 style games, it could be used for any game content. As I said, different licences tend to be incompatible with each other. Take a good look at the Open Source Software world, software created under the GPL isn't always compatible with other licenses.
