Baseing

It's really only the drying time that is a pain to be honest. I based mine using heavy duty card cut to the correct length. It took about 2hrs to base about a dozen ships 24 hrs for the stuff to dry and another couple of hrs to drybrush the wave crests white. So around 10-15 minutes per base isn't bad going
 
Here are a couple of my Japs & the Tirpitz for Kreigsmarine I'm painting for a friend. (I'll go back & put some nice labels on them all when I'm done painting.) Plasticard base with Elmer's wood glue texture, paint, Woodland Scenics Realistic Water brushed on as varnish. The bottle warns "DO NOT BRUSH". Just ignore that. (I think they mean don't brush on to avoid bubbles if you are pouring a lake or pond.)

My friend's German fleet also has sheet magnet on bottom of base for easy storage in small metal box. I'll have to add some of that to my mine, too.
