Babylon 5 Lost Tales: Thoughts and reviews?

Also how much alien kits they had lying around? Even more costs...

I also remember JMS saying that they´d leaver the more alien looking races for a later episode of TLT, so that the makeup crew would have more time to get into the whole thing (or something like that).

I think that, should the first new DVD sell well enough to justify others, each new one will be better than the one before - it is a new approach after all, so I consider Voices in the Dark something like an advanced test run

Sounds like all alien kit got basicly thrown into garbage then...Which would fit into my theory. Remaking those would add up costs which might not be best of ideas when you are trying to get deal for whole bunch of these(which I'm hoping JMS is trying to do).

If these sell enough maybe WB gives greenlight for whole bunch of them at which time they could start working on those stuff to make future ones even better. And probably with faster release rate as well(no 1 year from word go anymore. Things have been tried and tested and now they could probably do these in quicker order).

Here's hoping!

crap, just tried target up here and they don't have "lost tales" either. Looks like its a trip to Best Buy for me tomorrow...

The one I bought from Best Buy included a short Graphic Novel that is an additional tribute to Richard Biggs and Andreas Katsulas.

I guess not all the alien stuff was thrown away..in one of the interviews a crew member was walking around with the actually hairpiece for Londo on his head.

Having said all that....long live the sock puppets!

Hooray for ebay! And multi-region dvd players!

I thought it was good. Bearing in mind that it's the first (we all know how slowly he main series got started), and that he was uncertain if this would indeed be the last, it's good. The first half I thought was a bit lacking. Nice idea, but I was hoping it would turn out to be something Vorlon-related (seeing as how they're the angelic figures for all the races), but sadly not. Still, a pretty interesting idea.

The second part was great. Nice set-up for a story, a little dash of the usual B5 food-for-thought, and a little nod to Biggs and Katsulas "beyond the rim". The only thing that really stuck out to me (over both stories) was how empty it felt. I don't think there were even a dozen different actors. The station didn't feel as full of life as it used to. :(

As for the Q-space thing, it's not such a big deal. It seems like one of those things the Vorlons would have hidden from the younger races, like Sheridan did with the White Star's jump engines against the Shadows. I don't think it's anything like Thirdspace... if Mrs Whatshername's theory was close to the truth, it would've been faster than Q-space. Q-space seems more like something that the Vorlons would use when nobody's watching, and just use normal Hyperspace when they are.

well, they had to skimp on players to get the story made, for sure. No problem here.

And as far as Quantum space goes, I don't have a problem with it either, so long as "its cooked properly"

Have to say, I'm really glad to see Zoic studios on board for the CGI. They did a fantastic job with Firefly and Battlestar Galactica, and they did a bang up job on Babylon 5: lost tales as well.

Good to see Teryl Rothery working again also, even if only briefly. She's sorely missed from Stargate. Of couse, I probably spent too much time looking at the camera.
